I booked a 11D Europe trip that supposed to depart on 11/9/10. The trip was booked on 25/6/10 through a girl named Tammy. Tammy was friendly and frank in her suggestions, contrary to the horror stories posted previously. She assured me that the group currently already have 8 pax, inclusive of my hubby and myself so there shouldn't have problem to a confirmed departure. However, when I called again at the end of July (as what Tammy have suggested), I found out that Tammy has quit the agency shortly after we made the booking and to my astonishment, the no. of passengers in the group remained at 8! HA! That's when I start to believe all the reviews contributed above.
I had to call them to ask - no problem, after all they have many other silly customers like us. A Rachel offered us a refund of $1000 in late July - it shows well that they are confident that the package will not sell. That was in last July and despite all the calling all these while, they kept on reassuring me it was 'in process'. Till today, I called on for a persistent answer. they finally told me that they have passed the refund to their 'accounting department' on 17/8/10 and not sure why the 'accounting department did not act on it' ! Hello, if you working in the same company is not sure, what about us as consumers???
Perhaps the staff that I came across are pretty courteous in generally, there are lots of areas for improvement like every time I call, they ask me the same questions like booking number, departure date/tour name and the passengers name... it's sick to repeat the same old story again and again- when I am just taking back what was meant to be mine. If they cannot display responsibility locally, I cannot imagine traveling with them abroad... Sigh. "FIVE" stars... more to go before you can live up to the expectations that you promised. Do not promise if you cannot deliver.

I have travel with 5star a month ago to 11 days Turkey. I am pleased with the tour guide and driver service over in Turkey. Understd that they engaged "HIS travel agency" for their service over there. Our tour leader Berrin has been patience and will try to accomodate to our request including the friendly old driver. We have a small group of 10 and the tour mate was friendly and we have been taking care of each other throughout the trip. But I am not satisfied with the services they provide in 5star office. We booked our trip and agreed to pay the offer amount becos the sales staff confirmed that this group is more than 10 pax and they confirm departing. However few weeks later when we call we are being informed we have to cancel the trip cos they cannot confirm the headcount. We are given the option either to join the other Turkey tour or to other places. The sales staff whom service us is always not in town and we have a hard time trying to sort things out. But I must say they are polite over the phone when we ask the other colleague to help. But jus find that the person whom provide the tour briefing was not professional. Why I say that is becos he kept telling us dun know lah I only travel 10 years back, weather very hot lah but we was told weather is cooling during the travel fair ?? The point that he provided...I would say he has not done his homework. Well luckily we have enjoyable trip in Turkey after seeing the remark post dated 29.06.10. At first I was frustrated cos no tour guide to bring us over to Turkey and we are almost lost at Istanbul airport, but now think is a blessing for not having one haha

If u book a tour with 5 star, yr tour guide is Sunny Peh, dun ever joined. U waste yr $$$ and get the worst service, nightmare on yr holiday.
I book a tour to turkey on e CNY 2010.Me & My hubby wanted to leave on the 13th but they call to say airline full, depart on 14th. We agreed and on that day, at the airport, my e-ticket stated my name wrongly,I reach airport early hopping to buy some stuff @ terminal 2 but could not get in b'cos of my e-ticket wrong name. This Sunny told me to wait for his GM to come to the airport pay for my airticket and I waited for 1 hour.He even suggested if I have credit card,I pay 1st then claim from 5 star.During this time,He told me & my husband to give him "Ang poh"Red Packet, cos' he say CNY 1st day bring tour very "Pan tan". We was shock, cos we say we never bring red packet paper with us,he say he give us one.We r shock but we gave him cos we have to face him for the 8 days tour in Turkey. & My nightmare starts:-
1.At turkey airport,I tried to go washroom, shouted by him"Dun go toilet now, after you clear custom then go".I was very "Pai seh",alot of ppl watching.
2.He never guide us while clearing the custom at Turkey airport,he only take care of himself and we blur blur just follow the queue.
3.We reach the 1st sightseeing place,we ask him to take photo for us, he shouted at me and say he very busy no time to take photo for us.(Actual fact,he is just standing there, watching our group of ppl, that's why I approach him).At the Ephesus,he shouted at us again for not listening to the Turkey guide saying wat time to gather,I explain to him my set no battery, he say why I did not tell him, I told him walk half way no battery how I know.
4.During the meals time, he patrol our table like we are prisoners with 2 arm crossed over his chest with his bull dog face.
5.When we are some tourist attractions,we try to buy some sourveirs, he will shout at us"Hurry up, no time, must go now" But when we are at those factory outlet he will let us stay there for 1 to 2 hrs not rushing us,b'cos got commission mah.
6.Optional tour, I pity my group ppl, all force to pay extra tips on-top of the pre-set amount. Say each ppl give extra 10USD for the teenage who tag along with the Driver Uncle(Who knows he give that boy or not?)
I also realised that in the optional tour,1 place was not covered,I ask the turkey guide and him, he say he refund me 10 USD x 2 for the tour but ask me cannot tell my group of ppl(Our group have 36 pax).wow, He pocket another 340 USD.
7.Last, I dun have to mentioned at the airport way back to singapore, he disappear himself, never check with our group ppl,and take his luggage and exit the airport without even looking at the group who had spent 8 days in Turkey and Not a word of "Thank you" for the tips he collected.
I will never joined 5 star again!

I went to Bali last month, and I am totally disappointed with this agency. Why? Let me tell you why.
1) No confirmation from agency regarding hotel and departure.
2) When we called them then they did confirm our departure dates, however they could not confirm the hotel. Fine.
3) 2 days later and 2 days to our trip, still no confirmation on hotel. We called, and guess what they told us that they could not get the hotel initially promised, and gave us another hotel which they promised would be similar. I checked on the internet, instead of a 4-star which we paid for, we got a 3-star and the difference is 40usd a night!
4) Instead of a 5 minutes walk to the beach as promised, it is a treacherous 15 minutes walk via a dark back alley -_-
5) This is the creme de la creme. On the final day, the airport transfer didnt even come! Efforts to call the lady and the travel agency failed miserably. We had to take a cab to the airport.
I SWEAR BY THE NAME OF GOD I WOULD NEVER BOOK 5-STAR AGAIN. MORE LIKE 1/2STAR.

i called in to five stars enquiring about my bangkok trip. seriously, my line was answered, but was soon being cut off. i tried calling in again and my line got cut off again. i tried the 3rd time, a guy picked up my call, and before listening to what i said, he immediately transferred my call to a chinese lady. the lady spoke to me in mandarin, despite the fact that i chose english as the language in the first place. and she hang up my call before i could clarify some other matters.
honestly, its just a call, and i've already got this service. why would i even want to join their tour?! bad enquiring service, is good enough to prevent me from going to their tours.

Hi all, Ive just returned from a 12 days Italy and Switzerland tour (from 11 June - 21 June 2010). I also experienced bad service from Five Stars. We initially booked a tour on 18 May and was informed that a staff will call us 1 week before departure to inform whether the date of departure is confirmed or not. No such calls were received. We had to make the effort to call them instead and check for ourselves. We were informed that the staff who handled our booking, Raymond, was on urgent leave. The trip on 18 May was not confirmed as there was not enough people. Best of all, the staff who answered our call did not even give us any alternative dates of departure. We had to take the initiative to ask before finally being given the 11 June date. We had to pay additional $150 for this peak season tour date.
The tours itself were okay. The hotels we stayed in were all good and the guide, Carinne, was friendly and interactive. But we ended up paying about 130 Euros extra for optional tour (only informed us about this 1 week before the departure date) and 60 Euros for tipping. We were also disappointed that in Rome, we were not given the option to enter the Colosseum. We don't mind paying extra for this as its a once in a lifetime experience but we were not given any option. Instead, we were given about 5-6 hours to shop! We could have made use of that 5-6 hours to queue up and enter the Colosseum right?!
When I booked the tour, I informed the staff to request for a Muslim meal on board the flight. We flew SQ. I was not particular with food during the tour itself coz I brought my own instant food. I understand that the tour cannot cater to halal meals. However, they should be able to request for halal meals for me on board SQ right? But no, they could not even do this simple thing. I found out that there was no request for a special meal for my 12 hours flight from Sin to Zurich. I had to eat bread and fruits and salad only. I informed my tour guide and she said she will request for the meal for me on our way home (also on SQ). To my utter shock, when we checked it at the airport on 20 June, I was informed that there was a special meal booked. But instead of Muslim meal, Carinne had booked a Hindu meal for me! She did not apologize for the mistake made and was in fact laughing at this. There was also no attempt on her part to help me resolve this issue. She offered to buy me something for me to eat on board but she did not do so. I was quite prepared to starve for another 12 hours but luckily the SQ stewardess was kind enough to offer me vegetarian meal instead. Carinne did not even stop by to ask whether I have anything to eat. Frankly, I am disappointed with this agency and will not recommend for anyone to book with them. I had flew with CTC Tours before to Korea and even though this is another Chinese agency, I did not experience any such problems with CTC. Fivestars should really look into doing something with their service. The staff should treat these feedback as a learning point and not repeat them. Otherwise, no one will book a 2nd trip from them ever again.

I had alsmost the same exact bad experience with Five Stars, the staff is very rude including so called management. I booked the Redang trip with them on the travel fare, the agent told me someone will call me to ask traveller's details. But nobody ever called. I don't have the travel details she promised at all, called and asked many times still nothing. Worst of all, the day we suppose to travel, I found my son's passport got less than 6 month's validity. Called them and there was no help at all. The staffs kicked me like a ball from one agent to another. And their conclusion is "it is your own problem". Isn't it the travel agent's obligation to take down the taveller details in advance as well. I am surprised how rude the staff is the way they talk to you.

Yah! totally agreed with all that this is the worst of all tour/travel agency I ever come across in SPORE!
I have very very bad experience with this tour agency and the uncivilise staff or so called Management who got the creep to give all sort of excuses to cover up for his staff dishonesty for not revealing information to us when we make enquiry at the beginning till end of payment. Not only that, they dare to give us false information at the NATAs fair and after booking the tour, they simply change the itinery without informing and without even giving us a revise copy of the itineries despites I've asked TWICE for a revised copy. The staff just totally ignore me! One of our group travel mate was so frustate and told Five stars's staff off on her face(the one who give us a briefing before the departure date) who initally ignore me totally. The staff, name Jenny than said she will give us a revised copy. BUT till now (5days after her briefing on 20th May) we yet to receive her revised itinery! What a "GOOD SERVICE" this Fives Stars Tour Ltd provide!!! Darn it! Not only my family regret to book this tour agency, but all our tour group felt regret! but too late! So dunno what the 'shit' they going to provide us when we went to Taiwan as we have book their 8 days Taiwan trip. We book tour is for relaxing and fun BUT before we went for the tours, we had so many days of nighmare with this travel agency! So...for those who intend to take up any tour package with this travel/tour agency, please....please think twice before any action! my advise thru experience. Believe this will be our first and last time to have signed up their tour package!

although FIVE STAR coach is very famous in Singapore but the service is really lousy & give me a very bad impression.
This morning my husband & me took a Five Star coach from Golden Milen Singapore to KL at 10am.
The ticketing sales girl told us that the bus will terminate at Pasar Rakyat.
But I told the girl we want to stop at Sungei Besi Petronas the girl told us that we need to inform the driver before enter to the bus so we did it.
When almost reach KL, we remind the driver, whose know the bus driver refuse to stop at the Petronas station & told us that the bus not going into KL but just passby only & the bus destination will end at Ipoh.
We are panic & the bus driver stopped at Sungei Besi Tol & ask us to alight there & drove away. NO public transport NO taxi & we are in the middle of no way.
We are just two hopeless senior citizens with ours heavy lugages walk along the highway to find the way out.
We very disappointed with Five Star coach services. They twist and turn their words & didnt take resposible to the passagers at all. How can they just drop us in the middle of no way & refuse to take us to our destination which we have mention early before we purchase the tickets. We believe that we are not the only one who experience this and we feel that the Management of Five Star should take action against this kind of cases.
WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED BY FIVE STAR COACH SERVICES AND WILL NEVER TAKE THEIR COACH ANYMORE. SO EVERYONE OUT THERE PLEASE DO NOT TAKE FIVE STAR COACH. IF NOT IN THE END YOU WILL BE THE ONE WHO SURVIVE.

I have used 5star tour package for my honey moon. Tour started on March 25th 2010 and ended on April 3rd 2010. We covered Germany, Swizz and Paris. It was really a nice trip. Our tour guide ( Gabriel ) has done excellent job throughout the tour. He was giving all history about the places we are going to visit also he was really caring and helpful to everyone. We have used China eastern airlines for the trip, so the trip cost was comparatively cheaper. I have used 5star before also for my Tioman tour and I will continue using this agent for my upcoming tours. Thanks to 5Star and special thanks to Gabriel.

Fivestars Tours only good for coach packages. If you want to book Group Tours to Europe/USA/Korea/Japan or any others tour packages, better think twice. They are not up to the standard of the likes of ASA and CTC. Thats why you see their Europe pacakges are selling so much cheaper than the others big player bcos of their insufficient experience in this by short changing customers the itinerary inlusion. Tour leader sent also no experience making us walk more than 4 km to get to the restaurant. If you bkg from Five Stars is at your own risk. Totally no service and experience.

Saw their ad having in-house travel fair. Went to their office at Basement at PPC, walked in but none of the staff seems to be looking at your direction. "No Hello, No good morning, May I help you".... Although me and my husband were the ones standing infront of them. I waited infront of an empty seat. But I was not even offered to sit !!! When the saleman finished his phone call - he didnt bother to ask me how he can help...I had to make the first move and ask if they had tour for Vietnam. "Brochure over there.. take yourself. We only arrange tour based on dates"...The office is rather huge .. I had to hunt for "over here"... Good.. Found the brochure..brought it back to the counter.Instead of telling me what the package is about and briefing me the itinerary - he just stared back. When I told him he should be giving me information. He took the brochure, scrbble some figures on it and put infront of me. "Price here". I asked him to explain. He raised his voice and "shouted" the prices to me. I asked what airfline is used - "We only use Vietnam Air" - he replied. "Doesnt SQ fly to Vietnam?" I asked. "Yes, but we only use Vietnam Air". I asked again - then, you can offer the tour by SQ right? "Yeah, different price lor ! higher airport tax lor". So, I told him my departure is April 10 and asked him to check seat availability. He started poking on his pc - "No seat - all full. Only after 20th - got seat. Water festival". I kept silent to think and waited for any good suggestion from him to get onboard that flight. I looked at him - the ultimate respond came from his mouth : " So how...I told you no flight !!!!". That was it !!! I walked out of the office with my husband. As I left, I can hear him speaking sarcastically. I walked back and throw the pamplet on his table. Yes I did that - I confess. Again, he open his foul mouth with bad words ....Is this the kind of staff Five Starts is promoting ? Who acts as King and us, customers - their yo-yo...playing us around - just because we need their service ??? I went into another travel agency next door - I was greeted and the moment I enquired about the tour. I was given brochure with a few choices and finally within half an hour - my husband and I sealed the tour with full payment, with a confirmed seat on SQ for 11th April !!! So damn you, the fat guy at the counter on Sunday at Five Stars Travel (B1) - Your boss will be thankful to you for chasing away 2 good customers !!! So, dont believe those advertisements you see - about good service - that is all bullshit ! Remember to wear your Rolex watch and diamond rings to flash when you walk in to their office - they dont serve people like us - in jeans and T-shirt !
Dont ever try Five Stars - all crap !

I had a very bad2 experience with Five Star Travel during my two way trip Singapore-KL on 6th ~ 8th of March 2010. Boarding a Super VIP Coach which cost me $100 per head x 2 pacs.
1) During tickets purchased @ Boon Lay branch, the lady whom attended me strongly confirmed the departure location in KL is at Pasar Rakyat but it turns-out to be at Pudu Raya. My uncle in Malaysia was been informed on the initial departure venue and been waiting there for hours as the destination divert without any advance notice.
..FALSE INFO
..
2) Return journey on 1730hrs bus from KL, the bus breakdown at Seremban and we had to wait 2.5 hrs for the replacement bus from KL. The poor thing, I was with my 72 years old mom.
.LACK OF SUPERVISION AND MAINTENACE
..
3) The initial arrival time was been informed to my brother in Singapore whom going to fetch us at Beach Rd. When the incident occurred and time frame affected, he was so nervous and started to make enquiry in the Five Star Travel office, surprisingly NOT even one the staff aware of the incident
POOR COMMUNICATION
..
From these point of experience I had encountered, I strongly recommended NOT to engaged with FIVE STAR TRAVEL. It was so DISGRACEFUL and i'm very dissapointed with the service thru-out.

If they are not going to reply the email, then please remove their email from their own website.
bo bian then i went down to their compasspoint outlet to find out more. The agent was having trouble trying to figure out the price from their own system. took almost 10min to give me the price plan. another 5-10min to give me those departure date available.
give me no confidence at all.

I had the similar issue with 5 stars about the number of people booked. When I went to their head office (peoples park) to book for my Europe tour in March, they said 8 pax are already booked and it will be 10 including me and my wife. After a week time I called up the same head office number to know the number of PAX. the person who attended my call was asking me , HOW many persons were booked when you confirmed your booking ( This is a trick ) then I just said, 4 to know the truth, then suddenly he said, so far 6 persons are booked.. I could easily understand he is just bluffing me....

my advice is, if you dont mind ending up paying few hundreds of euros for optional tours, more shopping stops and not so fussy a person, join fivestars. their packages might be cheap but as the mandarin saying "yi fen qian yi fen huo" what you pay is what you get.
for me i would rather pay more for a package and not have all the problems people face like what others has commented below.
but then again, we humans are attracted to cheap deals like 1400+ to europe, very worth it what right? but whether you enjoy the trip or not would be a different story.
you make your own decision, happy travelling.

I said no way!!impossible to have this kind of price! Then i met this guy call Zeng Hao (5star)he claims that he's the one who draft this programme, and assure me that this is a chance not to be miss..saying how good is the tour, hotel, food the sightseeing...eventually lured by the price not by his service and sign up with them, after i sign up 2 weeks later zeng hao call me 1st time told me tour cannot confirm, ask me change date, then price different lah...blah blah all by this zeng hao, then before we depart purposely call me to ask me whether i buy LV handbags,i was thinking why the hell he want to know my shopping list, later during the trip i find out, this zeng hao will order the model in singapore then when u arrive u definately will or not get it(depend),the purpose is Of cause-commission.This trip is like rushing to be slaughter ,sightseeing was short, shopping was long(especially in switzerland)hotel-out of no where,meals-nothing to shout, fill the stomach more important.Guiding service-I dont think he(zeng hao)knows a things about place of interest..seldom talk, say on the bus cannot do guiding!(Then what purpose is he there)Then at the end of the trip i found out the purpose - He\\\\\\\'s there to collect money.Recently i call to ask for him but they had told me he had left to set up his own travel company, hopefully he go back malaysia and stay put there. If he really set up 1 here ,i promise i will inform all of you not to join him.

Lousiest, rudest and useless tour agency. No sense of responsibility. I had to even call them myself to check on my trip confirmation and in the end, it was no materialised and no one bother to call and inform. I booked this trip during Travel Fair (Sep 2009) and departure on Jan 2010. Now is already toward the end of Dec. This is the 1st and the last. No more five star for us.

Similarly to travel agency, Choose carefully, BIG in size not equal to great in quality.
Lucky, we still can find some good travel agency in Singapore.
I have joined five star travel for a trip, It was the first and also the last for me.

Hi all travellers.
Recently i just came back with Five Stars tours. First, their tour arrangement is fine. Hotels, meals, and the service of tour leader is average. I'm surprise to found that we are actaully staying together with all the travel agencies from Singapore. We met a lot of travel agencies as Dec is school holidays. We stay in a hotel call Oberland at Interlaken.
The hotel 'don' has lobby as its under renovation. And its separate to different buildings. Luckily, the room is fine.
About the meals, im not sure about other travel agency. But all of our group quite enjoy the meal we had at Italy called certosa and also cheese meals at interlaken.
Tour leader is very young, however, he provide a fair and satisfy service. Always with the sunny smile and energetic. Yet, there is room to improve in commentary.
Coming to end of the year. I think im d lucky one since we have everythings is above of expectation. Hope other travellers with Five Stars also having a happy memory.

Confused with comments from 'Frustating'. Frist you said you started with JUN AIR. Suddenly u fly to Shanghai for Korea tour. Then, if you have time, maybe wanna go to Small Claim Court (Claim what?). Korean tour guide walk in front? You expect him to lead from behind. LOL. I think 5 Stars tour are sucks too. But please make remarks clearly so that readers understand your points.
Frustating wrote on 8 December 2009
My family of four of 2 adults and 2 children just returned from a 8-day Korea trip. Our stress with Jun Air started way before the trip even began. Please bear with the long posting. We had to let off some steam and we dont have the time to go to Small Claim Court. This is one avenue we want to warn potential customers about bad service from five stars and the internet is a powerful tool. Our regret was that we discovered this forum only one day before departure.
1. Before Departure
We enquired around and finally booked with five stars because they have confirmed departure on the dates we wanted and the itinerary looked interesting and the length of tour was right for us. Then the unpleasant encounters began.
Two weeks after we booked five stars called to say the trip was cancelled as a group has pulled out to take the package. If a trip is confirmed can five stars just allow cancellation? Is there no meaning to the term confirmed departure? We were upset because we have applied for leave and done all the necessary adjustment to our schedules to accommodate the trip. Left with wondering what recourse we could take, five stars called again two days later to inform the trip was now back on and we would depart one day later.
Dutifully, one month before date of departure we went to pay the balance at five stars. The manager wrote down the flights we were booked on and the return flight to Singapore was on Sunday, 23 November at 4.05pm, arriving at 8.50pm. She told us the briefing will be conducted 3-5 days before our departure date.
We waited but no one called so we visited five stars five days before departure date and were given the Korean itinerary and luggage tags only. The itinerary for Shanghai and the etickets were not ready. Just five days before departure and these were not even ready. Wendy told us some cock-and-bull story about her colleague being on leave and could not collect the tickets. What collection? We are talking about electronic tickets!
Finally in the afternoon ONE day before departure and after calling Wendy repeatedly did we get the Shanghai itinerary and etickets sent via email to us. Unfortunately, the dates for the itinerary in Shanghai were wrong and so was the return flight. Instead of 4.05pm flight we got a 11.55pm flight which meant arrival at 5.00am on Monday and we had to go straight to work. What kind of slip-shot service.
We called to inform Wendy of the mistakes. She said she would amend the flight for us and when we checked Galileo ViewTrip we actually saw confirmations on both flight. He assured that the flight arrangements would be resolved. Not convinced we checked again on the morning of departure and ViewTrip was still reflecting two confirmations. We called her again and same excuse that she would look into it. We checked again in the afternoon, as you can imagine our lack of trust, and the earlier booking was gone leaving us with the midnight flight! We called and could not talk to Wendy anymore, she was not in, if you believe that. We spoke to another person (forgot her name) and she said Singapore cannot control this booking anymore and we would have to get main office agent to help upon arrival. What a load of crap! We gave her a piece of our mind and basically the could-not-be-bothered attitude was, if you could not get the earlier flight then take the later flight as you would still get back to Singapore.
What kind of attitude is that? After you have paid you are really at their mercy.
2. During the Tour
After all the stress we were beginning to lose confidence in five stars organizational ability and wondered what mess could happen while on the trip and we were not spared.
The emphasis of the brief we received prior to trip was to tell us how much tips we had to give each day and the currencies to be paid in. No information was given with regard to matters like immigration procedures in Shanghai. The first leg was a transit stop but we had not realized we had to actually go through all the immigration procedures at Shanghai Pudong airport. Could five stars not brief us on this piece of crucial information?
We were told to watch out for person holding five stars signage upon arrival at Jeju airport and were extremely glad that a lady was holding one. Relief that finally someone was there to actually meet us. However, while in the bus the lady tour guide said there were four extra people on her tour and, guess it, the four were us. We were in the wrong group! After much communication with her office it finally became clear the group we were supposed to be with flew in via OZ and were about 30 minutes later. The group that was on the same flight connection had a different itinerary. What confusion. As both groups were heading for the same destination we finally managed to off-load our luggages and caught up with the correct group. What a start to our Korean adventure!
The Korean tour guide was name Zhou (spelling?). His service was fair, he helped with the luggages and gave good commentaries during the tour. One complaint, he walked too fast and usually he would be about 5 metres ahead.
The tour leader (who i dpn't want to mention anymore) was busy flirting with the receptionist. Upon arrival, same thing, no help and all he did was wish us good journey back! For that we paid SGD20 tipping for the day? Where is the service?
Regarding our flight back, these were Q-class tickets and could not be amended. So we got kicked back to Singapore for a solution. We got our relative in Singapore to help call Five Stars as we did not wish to incur extra cost just calling long distance to resolve this, guessing the manager might avoid us or keep us on hold since this was the pattern before. Finally the reply from our relative was she could not get five stars to change our flight as it was Q-class ticket (cheap, special tickets). What a pack of lies from the very beginning. Either Wendy does not know the products she is selling or she was lying through her teeth the whole time.
It was a very stressful experience and we had never encountered a travel agent like this one in all our years of travel.
Finally, would be customers beware. DO NOT GO WITH five stars. Service sucks and there is no integrity.

Hey, nice to read all the genuine and candid reviews.
Let me summarised my exp with five star so far: "poor service and lousy attitude".
We have booked an 18-days tour to Europe (10D) and China (8D); which is supposed to depart on 26 Nov 09. Last week they called to tell us that the airline has cancelled their bookings. We have a choice of changing dates and paying a higher price for a different airline. After a few conversations, the latest from five star is that the airline (China Eastern) has miraculously became willing to move other pre-booked seats to accomodate our original schedule, but this to be confirmed next week.
Throughout the last week, five star keeps shifting the goal post to delay and offer us "alternatives" with higher cost or different dates; knowing very well that as the departure date gets nearer, the odds gets better for them. Initially, i thoughts that this could be a genuine mistake on their part. However, after reading some of the posts in this site, this seems more like one of the more commonly-used scams by unscrupulous travel agents. Btw, has anyone in a same fix as us?
Anyway, let see how five star response when the next week come. Will keep u guys updated on the outcome. Cheers!

I jus came back from Korea 8d6n book from Five Star include Jeju island. Everything was very good, hotel & food was upgraded as compared to 1 of my friend who went on this year Jan. But the Korean Tour guide (Linda Chin Hua) service was bad oni. I was pissed by the tour guide, she kept pushing me to purchase ginseng powder ( those who went should know )which cost about US200 per bottle which i did not bought, they will also bring us to Face Shop which i strongly will tell ppl not to buy from that store when tour guide bring u there because they do not carry full range of product as compared to the other store outside n tour guide get comission at the store when we buy at the store they bring u. The tour guide will then become the sale person pushing u to buy the more expensive product n they will tell u the Faceshop outside, product normally expiry date is shorter give funny excuses to stop u from buying outside. And will tell u the price is higher which i compared everywhere is the same and in fact you will get more free gift. This was the oni unhappy thing during the whole trip other then this everything was fine. But i agree their counter staff are a little rude.

My family with another book a trip to Redang with 5 stars and so far it everything is good till the day we came back. The driver was not very good in arranging the meal and best of all, we will in a coffeeshop and charge very expensive like eating in the hotel. But later realised that the driver was given the type of free meal base on what the customer order on their meal. Simple : the charges of the driver meal was on the customers bill in some way or another, but no choice it is their culture. Next is the meal-time, lunch as 3 and dinner at 8 pm, so those with children please take care.
Overall it is not bad except the corrupted practise on some culture.
I like to ask the Luoyi comments about Singaporean (I can't stand the way you put Singaporean down), I think you're already one of them if you keep saying Singaporean this and that and make sure your don't apply PR or stay in Singapore after reading your comment on Singaporean. I\'ve been travelling with 5 Star to USA, taiwan and turkey with incentive tour for the recent years. There hasn\'t been a problem at all. I\'m planning another trip to eastern europe this september. Look for Ivy Koh. Not for cheap skaters! INCENTIVE TOUR - choose what you want and where you want to visit. Can even change intinerary last min. Super value for money.

I do agree that all feedback is important, but I guess most of you are just starting to travel with tour groups and that is why you all are saying that... I've travel a few times with tour groups with different companies and all the tour leader understand that there is a group nowadays will give 100% good and worthy feedback, all you all are think are only what you want...
Use your own company that you are working in, is your company going to do a product that when one client say he/she they want something different? I would suggest that client to go for Free & Easy package themselves.... Not only Korea / Japan / China, Free & Easy traveling is easy, just do everything by ourself and you will sure able to do everything you like...
And if all of you have a calulator at home, count this...
1 tour group = 10 client
1 year = 20 group depart to korea
20 X 10 = 200 client
your 1 feedback is only 0.5%...
Next time get your whole group to feedback together... that would at be 5% from the total...
This is Singaporean just like what others has stated... sickening... self centered Singaporean... maybe if you all quit the habbit of standing infont of the MRT door, you all will be traveling happier...

One of the worst places to experience customer service. When the agents are trying to convince you to take up the package, they smile and coax you to pay up. However, once an issue arises when changes have to made by the customer, the agent starts shouting on the phone, cutting the customer off when they are talking and even blatantly shouting NO when the customer requests to talk to the manager. I had the worst nightmare when myself and a friend booked for a 2 night cruise for the 17th of June. Having a sister come down with flu, I was unable to make the trip and requested for a deposit refund. It was only 1 day back that I had made the booking and was told that I was on the waiting list and that it will be really difficult for me to get a place on the ship. The very next day, tehy said we got a cabin so no backing out. HUH? Was the agent just lying to me then? Having given a very valid reason as being quarantined, no such excuses were accepted. Agent (Sam Cheng) insisted that we have to forgo $200 (within that 1 day itself!). I will never be doing business with them again and will also be spreading the word to my families and friends. They are definitely my far, the WORST agency I have had to do business with.

I had an unpleasant trip to Redang with five stars.
My wife and myself was scheduled to depart Singapore to Rendang on 8th May 09 by Berjaya Air at 1400 hours.
On that day, at around 1130 hours, I received a call from the check-in staff of Berjaya Air wanting to reconfirmed our intention to board the flight and to my surprised that the flight was rescheduled to 1220 hours. Which means that we only have less than an hour for us to be at Seletar Airport. Fortunately, we were able to reach the airport in time and the check-in staff was also kind enough to process our check-in with only 15minutes before our flight departure.
Upon my return to Singapore on the 11th May 09, my wife immediately called Five Stars to enquire on the issue and they promised to check and get back to me on the very same day which was not materialize. My wife called them up again the very next day and we got the same reply. Meaning that the issue was not conveyed to the respective personal and again not even a call from Five Stars pertaining to above issue. Nevertheless, my wife went down to their office at People's Park Complex on the third day, 13th May 09 and to her disappointment, the Manager (Ms HongLi) mentioned that due to their nature of shift work, she was not able to gather informations from the respective personal who was in charge of Berjaya Air reservations. HongLi insisted that they are not aware of the change of flight timing as Airline did not notify them.
I find it very ridiculous and unacceptable with HongLi's reply and as a Manager, it is her responsibility to at least apologize and get back to the customer soonest possible. Not just wait and sit on the issue. What kind of service is this? Since she can called Berjaya Air in the presence of my wife, why can't she have the initiative to called the airline earlier... And to our surprised, Berjaya Air actually faxed and called Five Stars on 31st March 09 and it was acknowledged by their staff. Unfortunately, airline did not take down the name of the person who acknowledged the notification.
When my wife complaint to HongLi about the inconvenience caused due to their irresponsibilities and the possibility of missing our flight and guess what's her reply... I quote: 'Five Stars cannot be responsible for this lack of communication and in the event of should we miss the flight, we should ask the Airline for compensation.' unquote. In the first place, we had not even ask for any compensation. If that is the case, than why should we pay S$1500.00 to a Travel Agent to handle our trip. The purpose of paying service fee to a Travel Agent is to have a hassle free trip, but instead it was our worst experience. 'A total nightmare.' We are utterly disgusted by her indifferent attitude and lack of creditability.
Never ever to book with five star again!

I just finished an 8 day Taiwan package with 5 Star and overall I was happy with the service. The tour route covered the entire island with many stops and a different hotel every night. Considering the details and difficulties involved in plannng and executing such a trip I think 5 Star staff did a decent job and there were no major problems.
However the Singaporean tourists were another story altogether. They spent the entire trip complaining about everything. They complained about the food, the accommodations, the scenery, the weather, the tour guide, the shopping, the prices, the selection, etc. My wife and I endured many long hours on the bus listening to them complain about how ill-mannered and uncivilized the PRC Chinese people were that we encountered on the other tours, and about how the PRCs didn't queue, and were very loud and ill mannered in public places. The irony was that whenever the bus stopped at one of the many local shops or fruit stands the Singaporeans acted like a tribe of barbarians pillaging a village. When food samples were offered they waded into the crowd, pushing other people out of their way and grabbing greedy handfulls of fruit and shovelling it into their mouths. They would bellow across the crowd to their companions to come join in the Kiasu feeding frenzy and complain to the shop keeper if the samples ran out and demand more. Many times they filled their bellies and then didn't even bother to purchase any of the items they were glutonously devouring.
I mostly ignored this behaviour because there are examples of ill-mannered, and uncouth people in every country. However after sitting through several mealtime conversations listening about how great Singaporeans are, and how stupid, lazy, corrupt, and useless the citizens of all the neighbouring countries such as Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, China, are I finally reached my limit. I found it very ironic that the Singaporeans acted just as bad, or even worse than the travellers from the other countries they were continuously complaining about.
I will definitely consider travelling with 5 Star tours again, but I will choose my itineray much more carefully in the future. I would be willing to spend more for a package which didn't force me to spend several days trapped on a bus full of crude and uncouth barbarians.

I have a very very bad experience with FIVE STARS too.
On the 4th Apr 2009, I went with 5 of my family members to Malacca. We got the packaged tour from them.
On the day of return, 5th Apr, was told to wait at the lobby of Hotel Equatorial @1400hrs. When the coach arrived, according the driver's pickup list, they only catered for 5 pax. How to accomodate 6 of us ???
So the driver refused to let us board the coach and told us that another coach will be coming to pick us up @1500hrs. We double confirmed with the driver and he said, "Very sure".
Waited till 1500hrs but still no sign of coach arriving. We approached the hotel's concierge for help and was told that, if by 1430hrs still no coach, means that there will not be any more coach coming for the day.
Panic, I called up FIVE STARS Emergency Assistance (EA) contact that was printed on the invoice. Tried for 15 minutes but nobody pickup the line. Don't know what kind of EA line is this ?? Nobody man it and still dare to list it as Emergency.
Tried the S'pore branch contact, the staff picked up and I clearly told her my situation. Guess what the staff asked me ?? "You bought the package from which branch ah ? "
So I told her, People's Park Centre (PPC), then she transferred my line to that branch. Somehow my line got cut off. I had to call back again. When the call finally get connected to PPC branch, the receiver asked me who I bought the package from, and transfer my line to that girl Jxxxx, who sold me the package.
Instead of providing help, she questioned me loudly, "Why you didn't board the coach !!!!" Only keep insisting that the invoice stated 6 pax and that she is right.
We know that the invoice clearly stated 6 pax but somehow this doesn't tally with what the driver had on his list. This shows that their internal planning was screwed up.
I insisted on talking to her superior but was told that he/she not on duty.
She put me on hold and the line got cut.
Fuming hot, I called another branch and managed to relate my problem to the branch manager. The manager helped to arrange for another coach to pick us up and tried to explain that the staff is not rude, just that she don't know how to express herself.
What kind of crap reason is that ?? To me, it is just pushing the responsibility and cover up her staff.
She did offered to pay my international call bill though. How much will that cost as compared to our fright of being stranded in Malacca, worst still the next day is a working day for us. My 2 Elderly were shivering there and kept mumbling "When is the coach coming ?"
We waited till 1700hrs, then the coach came and pick us. We arrived at S'pore at 2200hrs, reached home closed to 2300hrs.
A few of us took urgent leave the next day. Really an unpleasant experience.
On Monday, 6th Apr, I called the FIVE STAR Big Boss's brother, Vxxx and relate our bad experience in Malacca to him. He told me that he need to check with his staff and call me back with an answer. Waited till Sunday night, 12th Apr, still no call from him. I called him, he didn't answer, called again, he hang up his phone.
I send him an SMS requesting to get back to me. Till now still no call or reply from him.
From here, you can see, even the Boss behaved so irresponsible, how to expect the lower level to follow. Definitely, FIVE STARS tours is NOT A RELIABLE AND TRUSTWORTHY TOUR AGENT.
Luckily it is just Malacca, still can get other means of transportation back cheaply. Imagine other oversea countries, HOW ??
I'll never never sign up with FIVE STARS TOURS anymore, including all our friends, companies and relatives.
FIVE STARS TOURS with ZERO STAR for Customer Service.

Its truth from what others have mentioned. It is NOT a good travel agent although its name is popular like the one GrassXX. Both of them have a very bad impression to me. I went to Peoples Park Centre to make enquiry about the free and easy tour to KL and the front line staffs have given me a very disappointed answer and it seems they do not know very well about their scope of work. Moreover, they do not understand and have no updated information from the main office. Worst still, they even insisted their answers are correct and they refused to seek assistant from the senior staffs. I am wondering how the management from the HQ trains the front line staffs. They are not respecting and paying attention to their work and how we (the customers) going to respect them. It is the same for GrassXX, The front line staffs are pouring the customers away to the others travel agents. What is the point of paying extra money to upgrade the coach to a better one and they have no guarantee of giving the customers the working TV set in the coach. They said if on that day, the TV set is found to be faulty; we cannot make changes or refund. It seems like we are paying an extra to buy a fool of ourselves. Why cant the management make sure that the coaches are in proper condition before it allows driving on the road? If it is the case, we will have no guarantee on the journey if something happened to the coaches when it is traveling on the highway. Both of the travel agents are totally out of my mind when the staffs have such a working attitude and irresponsibility. Therefore, do make second though if you are going to make reservation with them. I would suggest that it is worth traveling by flight to KL if you can buy a cheaper air ticket and to make booking for room directly from hotel. It is cheaper compare with travel agents.

Lousy tour agent.A lesson to be learnt.Went to Perak for holiday .We taken the night bus departed @ 2100hrs.Pick up and drop off other customer along the way and reached perak bout 0530hrs.The bus driver did`nt even know that he should drop me at the resort in the wee hour.in the end after some explaining. he dropped me in the hotel lobby after experiencing some problem with the security there not letting the bus through.the driver asked me how much do i pay for the bus fare which was included with the package.i told him all was included and have no idea.then he told me that the tour agency did`nt told him anything bout sending me to the hotel and that the five star tours customers always encounter this stupid problem.the others in the bus are starting to complained too saying it`s a hassle to send me to the hotel.`it made me look like a fool by this point of time.i said sorry even though all of this was beyond my control and walked to the lobby. The reception there was surprised that i arrived at that hour. She was being very nice and say that she`ll do me a favour to check me in that early.Again,i thought all was planned for me.i`m so pissed that i can`t sleep so about 1000hrs i called Five Star Tours with the hotel phone(IDD PAYABLE TO ROOM)few times to get through and put on hold then asked to call back later.Staff are busy to entertain. So i called back and on hold again, then i asked what will be the plan for my pick up on the departure day as the previous driver told me that no coach will come and fetch me on that day.The agent Told me that coach will be there as stated in the voucher @1015hrs.Feeling uneasy, the next day i called again and she affirmed that it`s correct just be at the lobby @1015hrs.Well it takes load off my mind to know that gettin back was arranged.Cut it Short,on the departure day itself, recieved a call from Miss Seah (related to the tour agent with malaysian number) @ about0950hrs,Suddenly shouted at me asking where i am.i was dumbfounded, who was she?Why she shouted? Why she giving me instruction in Shouting manner? She said that i`ve to be at the lobby by 0930hrs and a public TAXI with no further informaion given will come and fetch us to the bus terminal. So i rushed to the lobby and the taxi only arrived and picked us up @1000hrs.Arrived at the terminal.Other passengers in the bus looked at us giving that`You latecomers are holding us up look`.There`s still some more incident but i`ll cut it short .i`m so pissed that i didn`t explain to any of them.Just to share my experience so that future holidaymakers can expect that SHIT do happen when travelling with FIVE STAR TOURS.Any of u working with this travel agent who happened to read this review,do your job and try damn hard to make holidaymakers enjoy thier trip. Will NEVER book any trip with you guys again.

I went to Natas Travel exhibition 2 days ago to compare the itineraries, price and etc for a trip to Cambodia.
What surprised me is that 5-Star charge almost S$1370 for a 5D trip to Cambodia (Phnom Penh + Siem Reap) whereas Chan Brothers and CTC is around S$770. All prices include airport tax and misc. charges. The only differences is 5-Star has domestic flights from Siem Reap to PP whereas Chan Brothers has a coach service. How can there be a different of almost S$600?????? NBCB
When I spoke to their branch (before the Natas visit), the staff told me that the airport tax was S$112 per person, and it became S$180 when I was at the exhibition. How can a daylight robbery occur when the fuel prices are lower now, and suddenly shot up as the staff at the exhibition told me the airport taxes just raise. I challenge for the reason and staff said just went up.
What I cannot believe was that the staff will bluff you about Silkair terminology of "V", "Q" or "VQ" class of the flight, and it costs another S$110 dollars more.
Just watch out that during bad economy crunch, there are some sickening, disgusting and "faceless" 5-Star travels agents around in Singapore.
I will never, ever, go with this company and pre-warn anyone who asked me about my impression about this company.

It was not to what we had asked to be arranged and had been promised. And imagine they still got the cheek to say ours is special tour package. But to my horror, after I took a brochure from their shop and compared, only 1 shopping item was cancelled and not as what we had asked for. The rest remains the same and food also SUCKS and certain food items was also missing as what was written in the iternary. What the hell!!!!!! This five star tour should be called lousy tour. Could not have imagine the service from 5star is so bad till i book my trips to Camera highlands KL and malacca last Oct. We stayed at Palace beach in KL which is 20-30min drive away from KLCC.
We waited for 2HRS and 45MIN for the 5 star coach to pick us from KL to Malacca, we were being told to wait at hotel lobby since 9.30am for the coach to pick us up at 10.00am.
At 10.20am, the coach is still not here, so i decided to call 5star and check.
The 1st call, they put me on hold for a very long time, thinking of the high cost, i hang up.
One lady hang up my 2nd call which piss me off. I think its not her carelessness to do so.
I waited for 10min till i reach the sales person. They transfer the calls to many places and Nobody bothers to ans me.Very frustrated.
They told me that the coach will be late about 11.30am to reach. The time was already almost 11am.
At 11.40am, The coach was still no where to be seen. I request the reception to assist in calling Singapore to check. 5 star took a long time to ans their call and finally say the coach will reach by 12pm due to traffic.
The coach finally arrive at 12.15pm. When i ask the driver, he answered that he started his journey from GENTING at 10AM and needs to pick up others at various hotels.
5Star should not request us to wait at the hotel lobby at 10AM as the coach also starts at 10AM from GENTING.The location is at least 1hr 30min from GENTING.
Will never book with 5star for Malaysia ever again

For all the times i had been using 5 stars coach to malaysia and have no complain at all. But this time it realy spoiled my this beautiful sunday evening from a staff by the name Liling at Blk 221 #01-104,
Boon Lay Shopping Centre, fivestars travel. This staff attitude is worse and Five Stars Tours dosent deserved the pledged in providing excellent service to valuable customers.
The incident is like that:
We booked a coach at 5.30pm at 29 november 2008 to kuala lumpur. Howvever by the time around 5pm a staff from 5 stars had called us to collect the bus no. That time we already at the carpark infront of 5stars. we thought there is a courtersy called as remeinder.
So by 5.10pm we collect the bus no at ticket counter and my mum when straight to brought some bread in-case she need to sosume during the journet by 5.15pm to 5.20pm again a called to me, where we are just infront the coach. We told them my mum will be back very soon, but the staff ,liling with very bad attitue told us the the coach will moved when everybody is in the bus even though before 5.30pm, therefore i file a complaint that it is just 5.20pm and she will be back just before 5.30pm before the coach depart. The Liling put in the way that we are in the fault, and didint value a royal customer like me. At the end my mum back at 5.25pm 5 min before the coach depart. so i believe the 5 stars Liling souldnt have ths attitued, sound like we are having free ride in the coach. I hope i can alert anyone who wan to use 5 stars , should prepare for the emotion disturban from the staff. especialy Liling.

btw, the same reason "the guy quit liao!" was given when I questioned about the mistake in the booking of hotels. When I asked for the proper name, address n telephone numbers of the hotels they had booked for me (the same ones used in their packages to Taiwan), the lady whom I spoke to said she and the other colleagues didn't know the address and the guy (a senior) who was responsible for my booking had quitted.
I thought CTC was bad enough (the tour guide was more keen in earning commission at Rolex centres etc) than whether making allowances to ensure we enjoyed the fun we were looking forward to after going all the way up the mountain. These agents made me quite anti-package (at least from Singapore agencies).
When I went to NATAS fair for my Korea trip last year, most agents are quick to tell you about 4-star hotels and the number of restuarant meals included and not the actual sites of attraction. When I asked a lady from Dynasty why the Korea's packages only include 1.5 days of less in Jeju (mostly indoor sites such as the Bear Museum other than the Dragon Rock or something of that sory at Sunrise Peak) , her reply was 'there is nothing to see there'. So, in the end, I chose to go on my own as I was there were more to Jeju than just a Dragon Rock and a small Bear Museum which I could easily see elsewhere nearer

"lousy services... never deliver what they say. booked a trip to taiwan for 9 of us, promised that that the hotel is 4 to 5 stars and the food will be great... but the actual experience, hotel feels like 2 star, food wise, i have never experience such cheapo and tasteless food in my life. as a result, gave me a very negative impession of Taiwan on the whole. The tour guide brought us to somewhere near the 101 building and say take pictures can liao.... damn it, might as well see the pictures on the internet. And the travel agent in singapore, james, called me to pay the balance of the travel package. The tom=ne was very bad. I have already paid S$10800 and the remianing balance is $10800. then call me to say, you better pay up now ot the trip will be cancelled. sounds like "ah Long" man... damn it, i told him i have already paid up the $10800, you think i won't pay meh, what attitute. Then soften down his tone. My wife and me will never see them again!!"
I had the same threat from James too, after paying 80% for the free n easy trip to Taiwan. While I understand why they like money to come in early, I feel that we were taken for fools who have never flown. Was advised to pay 80% asap in case air tickets cancelled (I didn't believe that cos even pricebreaker allows booking up to 3 days for online air ticket booking). I paid anyway, only to have him called him 2 weeks later that I better pay up the balance or air tickets nn hotel rooms not secured. I felt it was the agency's responsibility to secure it since I paid 80% on the spot. I asked him how that could that be. He was startled for a while n added that I should settle quickly. Then he proceeded to tell me that he would call me again when everything is settled. That was another two weeks' wait. While I don't mind paying earlier or later, I thought I was taken for a fool. The hotel food at Yilan and Hualien really sucked. The one at Ximending, Taipei was slightly better but we had two eggs, 2 buns, one coffee/tea everyday for 4 days. James had painted a exaggerated picture of 'eat until you full' and the food was so so good. Turned out to be the worst I have ever come across in all my travels. Also had prob with the hotel booking as he gave us only 1 or 2 hotels to choose from at each location and promised that the locations are really accessible. We ended up taking cabs (S$12) each trip to get to hotel from station at Yilan. Even the one at Hualien was only accessible by 10min's cab. The hotel name, address and telephone number was not given too. The hotel name was wrong and incomplete so that I had to checked online and called the hotel up. All the hotel vouchers stated my name but the booking was actually done using my fren's name. Thus, I had difficulty at first locating my booking with the hotel at Yilan. There were 2 there with similar names and if not for a local day tour operator who questioned me, I hadn't realised that. There were other miscommunication too. Overall, I am really unimpressed with their service, though I paid an average of S$30 more per day for hotels compared to what pricebreaker or SA tours would charge.

I think is true that add another S$200 couldn't going to London. Is a common sense that London consumption is high. So, is reasonable that S$200 can't go to London. I also booked with Five Stars Tours for the same package. But i read in newspaper: 10D S$1758, 12D S$2358 by China Eastern.
I booked for 12D going by SQ because i was told that most of group going for 12D is fly with SQ then back with A380. Price will higher but i think is still worth and fair compare to other agencies.
However, i haven't depart yet. Hope that with the fair price also can get a good quality package as they told me.

I am goin to Europe next mth By China Eastern...It's a 10 days to Germany, France & Switzerland. They told me to add $200 if I want to go london....my parents are agreeable. When we are at the travel agent to make pymt for the 12 days trip, I was told tat it is not possible unless I took SQ n I have to top up $1500 for SQ which of course not worth it! It is so irritating...I wonder wat other probs will arise

lousy services... never deliver what they say. booked a trip to taiwan for 9 of us, promised that that the hotel is 4 to 5 stars and the food will be great... but the actual experience, hotel feels like 2 star, food wise, i have never experience such cheapo and tasteless food in my life. as a result, gave me a very negative impession of Taiwan on the whole. My wife and me will never see them again!!

Often booked with 5 stars to travel to Malaysia and so far only 1screw up when we went up to Cameron Highlands recently.. Our bus back to SG took nearly freaking 12 hrs! At first the bus wasn't punctal, then they had to go KL to drop 2 customers.. So after that we were told that there wont be any more stops. BUT the stupid bus driver went to Malacca to pick up 4 ppl!!! Pissed all the passengers off!! icon_ranting.gif Well.. that's the onli screw-up as of now..
I also booked a tour with 5 Stars to Korea too.. coz it's the cheapest and value for $$.. Did lots of comparing with other agencies at tat time! And overall experience was good.. they delivered what was promised!! And seriously, food's fantastic over there! Room wise are 4-5 Star hotels with great views... And the tour guide gave very detailed explanation to us! But I kept dozing on the coach (Nt on purpose!!!!) Service's good..We dun haf to wait for the bus nor do they give us very little time to shop/ walk ard...Oh!! they have this photographer ard (You are supppose to buy picts fr him @ the end of the trip.. but of course U can choose nt to! ) who's veri friendly and helpful! Carry our bags.. Serve us during our meals..(So in the end, think we bought 8-10 picts fr him.. = abt S$80!!!! and we are the ONLY ppl who bought the least in the tour!)

Looking at all these reviews, I'm glad I didn't book my trips with them. Once I step into the branch at Beach Road looking for packages to genting, all I get are rude replys or they will pretend to act as if you are invisible. Really bad customer service. I will rather spend my money elsewhere.

All the bad experiences have been mentioned by all the writers. Me too have so much of same experiences with 5 stars. I wonder why there are still many people who want to try their services when we have already posted our advises. Take care and good luck for those that do not seek our advises

We book a 4D3N F& E with FIVE STAR TOUR to HK this coming THU. Due to some unforeseen circumstance, my hubby cannot go with me, so we went down to check if there is other alternatives like :
1) we can change name ( I'll get my frd to go with me instead). We are willing to pay for the admin fee.
2) Postpone the trip?
but the reply we got was - Can't change, MUST CANCEL and buy a new ticket @ S$500++ ( end up i got to spend almost $1500)
- Postpone is worst, must pay additional almost 400+ (hotel+admin+ dunno wat)
So after much consideration, we decided to stay put, see nearer to the date he can make it or not. Then today, i rec'd a msg from them " You are buying a 2 to go package, so it's a special ticket, you CANNOT cancel"
What is it?? I'm still considering, worst come to worst, i can just go ahead and throw the ticket into the drain lor.. why is she telling me all these.. so now how, does that mean even if i'm willing to forgo that ticket, i can't go alone? What if they don't allow me to check in? This is too much.. why didn't they tell me when we first book the ticket, I check thru the doc given by them , no such clause! All she said was perhap her colleague made a mistake- And the best part, i think the staff are all very well paid, she sound like 1800/- is nothing!
I received a call from the sales from century sq, telling me the case was passed back to her and the moment i pick up her call she said " hello, now i handle the case, tell me what you want" What kind of customer svs is this! I was very angry, and i told her since your HO passed the case to you, they shld have told you what i want". and that was the moment she said she will do the cancellation of one ticket for me and do the necessary amendment, will get back to me.
I waited patiently for her reply and after 1hour, she called
She : Mrs Goh, your ticket have been amended and you will fly out tmrw at 8am and coming back on 15/6. your seat is no longer available so you will have to come back at 8am flight.
Me: Huh, why like that.. Okay never mind. so i'll reach Spore about 12 plus rite? so how much must i top up?
She: $265/- hmm..hotel charges and 35 is for airline for amendment fee. Then hor i will change the hotel room for you.
ME: Wait? why are you changing the room when there is nothing to do with the hotel? I'm going alone doesn't mean i can't take a twin room right?
SHE: Oh..ya.. ok.so quick, you want the ticket or not. so you must come down and settle the 265 today
Me: OK.
I thought all was well until my GF told me the flight back from HK will transit at BBK! I was really shocked cos since day one we wanted a direct flight and AGAIN.. she didn't inform me about the change. I called again.
Me: Hello, can i check if the flight coming back from HK is direct?
SHE: Hmm, let me check. Oh~~ you have to transit at BBK.
ME: WHY DIDN"T YOU INFORM ME JUST NOW?
SHE: I think i forgotten and anyway YOU DIDN'T ASK also.
ME: HUH.. My fault for not asking? i asked if i'll reach s'pore 12pm and you say yes. Don't you tink it's your duty to inform me? What is happening?
SHE:Hello, Mrs Goh, I'm been "HAO XIN" ( out of good will) for doing all the changes and amendment for you, you still want to complain so much!
This is just too much. This is not customer service. I guess she must have forgotten who writes her pay check. It's customer who are paying her salary and this is not the way we are to be treated.

Not good experience with 5 stars during my trip from Cameron back to S'pore during end of March. The VIP coach tv not working and the driver is extremely rude when asked why there isnt any stop over for dinner from Cameron back to S'pore. He claimed tat it was the office instruction. Only stopped for toilet break and to buy some food from petrol kiosk.

Hi
I found this website while searching for a feedback section for my experience with five star tours in singapore.
I am on my way back from genting using one of the packages offered by them and I must say that it has been a forgetteble tour for most part as far as the services by five star is considered.
My personal entertainment system doesn't work, for my brother - he can't switch between the games and movies offered and to top it all I have not encountered the staff that is more inconsiderate and bad mannered. No apology for the things not working but a sarcastic talk and sadistic grin is what I have got from these guys in the coach.
I don't think I had paid a few hundred dollars for a bad hotel room and a boring journey back home.
I don't even know if this mail is going to be useful, but the fact I have written it even before the journey is over shd allude to my irritation. I am sure I am not using them again!
Thanks
Amit

No doubt about it, 5 stars deserved to be the worst tour agency in Singapore. My friends and I book through them to a trip to Redang in 2001 and they actually put three of us (there were five of us altogether) into a return trip by coach on another day without notifying us in the first place. When we found out the day before, they told us that there's nothing they could do, the coach was fully booked! We felt cheated. We ended up taking a flight back and then public transport out of our own money. :(

Yes, I also have very bad experience with them. Went with my family to KL in 2005. Some of the seats are spoiled and my sister-in-law sat on a non-reclining chair. When we reach KL, they say the coach cannot go inside the hotel and just alighted us 1-2 streets away and we have to walk in. When we wanted to check in, and to our horror, the agency did not even book accom for us! Luckily the hotel staff is very nice, say there are available rooms and they could check us in first and settle separately with the agency. And guess what, the coach back from KL to SIN is also a terrible experience. The air-con is almost non-existence. We had sauna for the entire 5 hrs back. I wrote an email to the management to complain. Hardly surprising, they did not even email me back. I have never book with them again.

I booked a trip to Aussieland with Five Stars...the price everything already confirmed and paid a deposit. Then they tell us to come down to submit our passports for visa as well as pay the full amount. Ask them which branch to go down, they say any branch also can. Ask again, must we go down to the specific branch we booked. They say don't need, go to any branch also can.
So we went down to a branch. Asked for the person who called us. Everybody dunno who we're talking about...then finally, someone says the guy quit liao! :blur: He just called us the day before! Anyway, then submitted passport to this person who die-die swear she will pass to the person in charge....and then want to pay, they say cannot. Must go back to original branch to pay! Argue argue also no use, so basically have to make another trip to another branch. Reach there, they say the price increase liao. :blur: We already signed some receipt prior to that, so how can anyhow increase the price? They say dunno what foreign currency change so have to increase, and the girl say 'Anyway, only $5, you just pay lor!'....so we told her 'Anyway only $5, you pay for us lah!'
Then settle finish, few days later another person calls us and tell us we haven't submitted our passports!!!!! Diao! Insist we already went down to XXX to give XXX but he say he never get, ask us to go down again! Next day go down, the guy on leave!
After alot of hassles, finally managed to finish everything....Before leaving, have to collect some free travel bag and the travel stuff from the office. Went to the office. about 10 counter staff, not a single customer. We sat there and waited for someone to help us but NO! They were all gossiping about whether the previous customer is a Loanshark! Finally a more senior staff comes to help us (I think we sat there for 15 minutes with all the staff pretending we were invisible)....and she helped us get our travel bag...but someone took away from her table, so she was all panicky and asking her colleagues who took the things away. No one bothered to help her look, one guy just say "Aiyo don't have don't have lor! No Big deal what!" This senior staff knew we were damn pissed with the attitudes, so she kept apologising say they are all from malaysia don't complain to the management or else they kenna fire, etc.
Finally can depart on the trip, our guide was someone who's never been to Australia and couldn't speak English (nor Mandarin properly). Malaysian guide. Sigh~ So she couldn't communicate with the local guide..and spent most of the time queueing at the wrong places to get us into the attractions. There were some people who couldn't understand Mandarin in the group and we had to translate what she said to them. Best thing, she brought us into Movie World without telling us when and where to meet for lunch. Until everyone was scattered inside, then she tell 1 or 2 people and hopefully we will bump into each other and pass on the message!!! So lunch was horrendous! Alot of people didn't even know where to go.
And then prior to departure, the agency told us the tax was blah blah amount. On the trip she suddenly said it's more. Everyone complained how come earlier said it's only how much, now suddenly increase. She just say dunno, just pay. Then the agreed tips also she suddenly increase! Of course we didn't agree to it since she didn't do anything for us at all! In fact this is one tour guide who keep asking the tour members to help her take photos instead of the other way round!
Damn jialat lah, 5 Stars!

Had really bad experience with Five Stars. Went to Cameron wif fiance. On e trip back, we were practically stranded there. They called us that morning of departure only to tell us that we were the only couple coming back from there so they've arranged 'alternative transport' for us. Imagine our horror when we were put on a PUBLIC BUS frm Cameron down to KL to transfer to yet another PUBLIC COACH back to Singapore. The 1st bus was one of those rickety, non-aircon buses....
We were SUPER ANGRY!! I mean, we paid good money for our DIRECT COACH to & fro Cameron. IF they were gonna put us on public transport, i mite as well have bought my own tickets.
My friend who went to Genting with FIVE STARS had bad exp too. The whole group of them, 9 altogether including children, were left stranded at Genting when it was found that FIVE STAR made a boo boo & overbooked the coaches. SO there wasn't any places for them on the buses.
Again FIVE STARS do wat they do best, that is, put my friend's group on PUBLIC TRANSPORT. They took a shuttle down to Larkin at JB & had to find their own way back to Singapore from there....
When we all made official complaints, the management couldn't even be bothered to compensate accordingly the amt of stress & suffering we were put through & compensated us with, get this, ONE BLOODY NITE STAY IN FIRST WORLD HOTEL during off peak season & we still had to pay for the transport there...

I had a very bad experience with 5 stars ! It was about 4 years back when i went to Redang.
We waited at the agency for close to 2 hours for the coach to depart due to some traffic jam in JB as what they have claimed to be. As we were rather late and the coach have to reach the ferry terminal to catch the ferry, the driver was speeding dangerously.
When we reach the bus station in trengganu, everyone got down and their respective resort vans will fetch them to the ferry terminal. There's another couple with me and my bf joined the Berjaya resort and we waited for half an hour without anybody to fetch us!!
We called back the agency in s'pore and they said cos we were late, the van left! Shouldn't there be co-ordination between the agency and malaysia side since its their fault to be late. And the agent told us she will arrange for a car to fetch us to the terminal but we have to take a 10mins walk. It was raining very heavily and we have to ask for directions to the pick-up place. As we walk, we were thinking why should we be going through all these.
As we were very late so we didn't care much and kept running. Finally, the driver managed to call and requested for the ferry to wait for us. We were the last to get in the ferry and everyone was looking at us.
Due to the running in the heavy rain, i had fever throughout the holidays and the other couple were also down with flu. Our whole trip was ruined. It was the 1st and the last of 5 Stars. Would never ever book with them again!
