We had a horrible experience with this agency and WARN YOU IN ADVANCE to be careful.

They lied to us about the lenghth of time it would take to reach our destination. They failed to communicate reservation booking until the last minute. They also were extremely difficult to reach by phone.

This view was not only reflected by us, but all others on the trip we took who went through Them.

You have many more options in Singapore and again warn you to watch out.

I would like to thank city99 for persuading me to go bangkok on the 28th Oct............ At first I was very skeptical about going as the media report it until very jialat! I was actually very scared and I keep calling their office! I even scolded one of the girl there i forgot her name........ the news reported that on the 30 to 31 is the most serious! I have called up MFA and they say there is no food and water....... Every staff i have called say that bangkok is very safe especially the shopping area. I do not know who to believe. It was a risk but it is a worthwhile risk..............

Bangkok is such a beautiful place and the despite the flooding........ the people there are still warm and friendly....... The only flooding that I have seen is when i was on the airplane Thai Airways 404 flight..... The padi fields are flooded......... The hotel that i stay is centrepoint petchburi 15....... There is a hotel staff name Mai that keep updating me the situation........... She told me the flood is only outside of the city...... I have been shopping the whole day i did not care at all! The weather is so hot! Food is so delicious in bangkok........... At first mineral water is selling at 30baht....big bottle... next day selling at 15baht........

I have learnt my lesson never to trust only 1 news......... I have been following the news on TV since the flooding started....... They make it sound like Bangkok is doomed and in peril........ Even my hubby thinks that flooding is tsunami............ silly him.. ........ But all of that is not true when i go there........

to the post below....... I can feel your anger and frustration but nothing is free in this world ya? I believe travel agents are having alot of problems with the bangkok crisis....... their telephone is so hard to get through..........

Never travel with this agency, booked a flight with them for travelling to bangkok in August 2011 and intended travel date is Oct 2011 where Bangkok is fooding like crazy. I called the agent in charge of my booking from City 99 to try to postpone my flight. Anawer from her is that i need to incur an addutional 75 dollars in order to change my flight. The problem is Thai airways has issued a memo for customers affected by the flood to change their dates free of charge, i called up another travel agency and their answer is that they will help customers change their travel date free of charge even if it is sale/restricted ticket, i cannot believe City 99 is asking me to pay. They are CHEATER BUGS. Dun go with them, terrible experience!!!!!

我是一位中国学生，来这边旅行社订团去泰国。我们参加泰国曼谷巴提亚的团。这家旅行社的价钱很便宜。服务态度也不错，而且解释的很清楚。我们玩得很开心。我们以后也是会介绍很多朋友来参加这边的团。。

I have booked a bangkok tour with city 99 asia travel. Was taking this flight Myanmar airlines. It is my first time going overseas with my family so was thinking of actually taking a better flight. I have never heard of this airlines but still decided to go ahead and try because it is cheap haha!

I was initially skeptical at the flight timing, why does one airlines has such a weird flying time? until I realize its final stop is at Myanmar! Check in at the airport was ok although a bit crowded. The plane itself was nothing to shout about and since its only 2hrs flight and its cheap, so there is nothing to complain about it actually

When I proceed to the meeting point and even though the travel agency told me that the guys there will be wearing red t shirt, I was like huh? RED SHIRT??! Isn’t the red shirt something of a taboo in Thailand? Apparently I was quite the naïve and ignorant 1 haha..! There was like 10 of them waiting there. (I assume they are all tour guides waiting) all wearing red shirt! Oh my! Like a mini gathering! Oh my goshhh…

We got onto the tour bus and hit the pinnacles of what it seems to be the norm of Thailand… TRAFFIC JAM! It was about an additional of 20mins to our total journey to our hotel. We stayed at Centrepoint patchburi 15. The hotel exterior was pretty old but looks can be deceiving as upon entering the hotel and to its lobby I was taken aback..! It is not too bad actually! With many sawadeekrap from the staffs there, it is actually quite funny! We have a total of 6 person so we took 3 rooms. Initial though we wanted 2 rooms but the travel agency say since we are paying the same price, might as well take 3 rooms. They say they will not care how we actually sleep in the room. We went into the room and oh my gosh! The room is huge! Like an apartment! Do people actually stay there long term? I wouldn’t mind! Since its already late afternoon we decided to freshen ourselves up and go do some shopping!

Oh gosh.. Thailand is extremely warm and humid! There is a distance from the hotel and out, I dunno its like a very short walk of 4mins? We were brisk walking as it is extremely hot so we have no idea how far. We decided to hide in platinum fashion mall to do some intensive shopping and later in the evening we went to the night market nearby to grab some dinner before ending the night.

Second day started with a hearty breakfast, I like the spread even though my parents said its average. But hey, everything is subjective ok! We then proceed to the city tour. Woo hoo time for some praying! Went to 4 faced Buddha nearby, huh? It’s only so near? We could probably go ourselves next time! Floating market?! What is this? Seems like we only go there to feed the fishes! Floating market for the fish? Haha! What a hilarious morning for the half day tour! After that is more shopping and more sweating!Oh my I realized I have said too much as if it is my own blog! Haha!

Anyways I have enjoyed myself in Bangkok and will head down again! So will city 99 give me discount next time round if I manage to introduce customers to them? I wish!

p.s the tour guide also has a wacky English name. Hes Jacky! And he is like really handsome, not like those dark dark tan tan thai worker in Singapore! Not forgetting he is young as well ;)
I gave him my msn hope he remembers me! ;)

LAI lied to us about the lenghth of time it would take to reach our destination. They failed to communicate reservation booking until the last minute. They also were extremely difficult to reach by phone.

You have many more options in Singapore and again warn you to watch out.

This is the worst travel agent I have come across. Totally unreliable and irreponsible. We had booked Vietnam tour for 7 persons and their staff booked the wrong date for us, which we were unaware. A week before the wrong departure date booked by them, they called us to tell us the tickets were ready for collection. Thinking that there was still a lot of time based on our desired departure date,we intended to collect the tickets nearer to our desired departure date. We got a rude shock when their staff called us on the date of departure and asked why we had not rurned up at Vietnam airport. The company was irreponsible and did not exercise its duty of care with due dillegience. How can they kept 7 air tickets in their office and the custommer had not collected them when departure date was near, and they were not bothered at all and never called to remind the custommer. When confronted, they told us they thought we had decided not to proceed with the tour, as from their experience there were customers who decided not to go after booking their tours. Knowing our plight and the losses suffered by us, the company did not offer any help, did not help to lessen our losses and even got the chick to still keep their profits for the tour. We only got the refund of the air tickest less administrative cost from the airlines. We made a claim against them in the Small Claim Tribunal, the company promised to give us a special offer for another tour on goodwill basis. They later offered a tour to Thailand which they claimed was special offer. On checking, we found that other agents were quoting lower prices that the company was offering us. Obviusly,this company did not want to honour its promise and cannot be trusted at all. We will NEVER NEVER EVER patronise this agent!!! Advise everyone NEVER NEVER EVER patronise this agent.

Employ more quality staffs!!!!!! Ask for A the chinese lady give me B. What a waste of time...... sigh

Very customer oriented company. I was served by Wei Jing days ago, she is friendly and patient. When she knew that I wanted to bring my parents for a holiday, she search for packages that suit the eldery. When I said I will consider and return, she is all smile and said \"Your parents will love it\" when I leave the agency even though I didnt sign up on the day. Went back today, had a very great experience served by May Yu. Excellent Service. She is very patient in explaining the package and the location of the hotels. And, I merely mentioned that I dont like the seat no. of my air ticket she even offered to try to change it for me! Very impressed by her service. Excellent.

But later I found it is $57 cheaper booking from SIA online than the price I pay at City 99. Called them complain (did not ask for re-fund cause I know they don’t have the power to do so) but you now they only leugnened for their irresponsible service. The manage also told me I will nv be able to speak to the boss about this.
Brought some Taiwan package information but I don’t think I will use their service again. Just share my experience.

all these reviews sound very biased and one sided. Almost sounds like the employees and their employers are writing the reviews...hmmm

yesterday i've booked a tour to bangkok. 5days 4night for feb. A good deal i would say and the staff is always patience despite my wife angsty behaviour and undecisive action. I have been a regular customer of city99 since 2003, their standard of service is well maintained throughout and they are trustworthy. Many of my friends that booked also gave the thumbs up.

I have join their Chengdu / Jiu Zhai Guo Tour last year. I agree the price is a bit high, but i dun mind paying more for the good accommodation and service. Overall i find it value for $$$$$$...

I have booked their free & easy tours a couple of times. Their staff has always been very helpful and polite. They are definitely the travel agency to go to around chinatown.

I have book a 5days Shanghai Tour with them. Although their price is slightly a bit high, but i don't mind paying that little extra for their good service.

i am sorry to the readers to bombard with the reviews but i hope this would save somebody from booking a misleading tour package.
i should be more specific in giving the details of the trip cost.
air tickets with tax (500 SGD) + same hotel rates as per hotel website (roughly 7000 baht for 3 nights accomodation) roughly 300 to max 350 SGD ..

which leaves the cost of that free and easy trip to max 900 SGD. as such there are nothing value addition services in the free & easy tour.. but if you charge something for such value addition services and stuff.. still you dont charge from the person full 400 SGD for that.. in this much amount, one more adult can enjoy the tour, which i simply paid as "their service charges".

though, to mention, the staff is very good. But i think their package price policies are not exactly fair.

Also, to add, for infant booking, the tiger airways ticket charge was 60 SGD for return journey and they charged 60 SGD more as a service charge, thus just infant ticket became 120 SGD (60 SGD flight ticket + 60 SGD agent service charge)... strange policy.. :|

I went to this agent twice.
Once for the guided tour to bangkok-pataya. The guided tour was nice and hotels were good. overall good value for money.
second time however, it was for free and easy package to Phuket. And i must say, the staff was very helpful and nice, but the prices were very expensive. I booked in hurry first with them and then checked on the internet the prices. And I ended up paying a lot extra then what I would have paid, If i had made the booking on my own. The hotels in May-June in phuket are at very low rate and the budget airline ticket has hardly any fare and almost everything is airport taxes, which are anyhow never included in the package.

I must say, its better to check the hotel rates and airline tickets on internet before taking a "free & easy" package deal from travel agent. You might end up spending a lot extra because of the agent service charges than what you pay for the actual hotel room rates.

One of the better travel agents around in chinatown. At least their staff is knowledgeable and honest. Will tell you all the hidden costs.

Have booked travel packages with them twice and always on good promo offers! Includes good hotels as well! Service staff are very helpful and patient. :) THumbs-up!

I TRIED THIER FREE AND EASY TOUR TO HONGKONG RECENTLY. THE PRICE WAS ATTRACTIVE AND HOTEL RECOMMENDED BY THEM IS GOOD AS WELL.

As recommended by my colleague, I had joined their Korea Trip on Dec last year. I found the quality of services provided is very good! Nice hotel, nice food and friendly staff. I'll definately try their service again in the future.
