I can't understand why people would choose Chan Brothers. Over in Auckland, they put the entire tour group up in a hotel 20 km outside the city centre. We met the owner of a nursery next to the hotel who told us that Chan Brothers also does that... cheap area and some murders were committed over the past few months in that district.

If you want to book with Chan Brothers, be sure to check out the location of the hotels and get them to promise you a full guarantee.

i was very disappointed with c.brothers as well during natas fair 2005 when i booked for my cny 2006 trip to korea..i booked departure was on cny eve, cuz the tour fare was much cheaper, thinking the group can be finalised(even the tour personnel say most likely no problem!!)..that was in sept cuz during natas, but when dec comes, they called me saying not enuff people and ask me to change to day 1 of cny..and of cuz i had to top up the difference...so disappointed because the reason is very very lame, obviously maybe they are a wellknown agency cannot be group not able to finalise due to not enuff tour members, i believe its maybe because of very low profits... bad.gif then recommended me japan etc..in e end asked for a refund back...

Went to the Natas Fair on 3rd Aug 08. Sign a package with chanbrothers to Taiwan. Pay a 50% deposit on the same day. On the following day, the admin personal called and say the tour guide quoted wrong price, wrong date of departure & wrong airline. Was extremely angry. Wrote an complain email to them, but they still did not give me a good explaination, neither a solutions on the above incident. I demand for a refund but chanbrothers need 8wks or more to process.. Last but not least, please kindly engage someone who\'s experience to quote for pricing, details and everything to avoid this kind of things to happen. Don\'t wish to have more victims in future!

You wanted to know more about tour packages. They asked you to call their HR. And you asked for HR number? Did you not find that quite unusual? Did you clarify that you wanted their sales department instead? And you emailed a Hotmail account to contact a large-scale Singapore company? Are you feeling ok? omg! If I were selling you a travel package overseas, I would be very worried about sending you there! Gimme a break!

Chan Brothers is highly irresponsible. I wanted to actually more about the packages. however, they told me to contact the human resources department. So, i asked the HR department NO. they said they dont give nos. and they instead gave me a hotmail add to contact HR. i emailed them 2 times since with everything intact. there is still no reply. i also tried calling but to no avail. not a single pickup from the customer service. this shows Chan Brothers and its ignorance that somehow their business will gai profit even when they dont really care about the customers and their words they say to their customers. PLEASE DONT go to chan bros. A travel agency basically needs honesty, responsibility and concern especially for the customers. not three present.how do we actually trust them then? ...

Chan brothers is so dishonest! I recently went on a 8D6N grandeur of Korea. I was told we would have only 19 people going on this tour so no local tour guide will be going with us. The day before departure, a lady called to inform me about the departure terminal and meeting place. Before we hang up, she said, "Btw, there will be 34 people on this tour." Apparently they merged 2 different tour groups together. That is so unfair! I felt so ambushed and cheated!!! The tour guide was also very sickening, kept on critisizing PRC, taiwanese and japanese! He also kept on promoting the ginseng. My dad bought some ginseng from a local shop and not from the shop he recommended. He told everyone that eating those will cause stroke, hypertension and nose bleed. I'll never book from Chan brothers again.

No personal attacks la. You've met the GM? thought its a Anthony Chan, not a woman? I also find there packages very expensive compare to others agency. Try SA or CTC or ASA or Dynasty. Good quality without the inflated prices.

Gone to NZ, Japan and Taiwan with Chanbrothers. I think they engaged very experienced tour guides. I feel that they have engaged professional and good travel guides. May be that is their strong points.
Of course we had bad experiences when travelling, but it was with an budget airline. I never take the airline again. Horrible ground staff in shenzhen china. (The ground staff at last boarding-counter for Tiger away) Why can't she be more polite. She is loud and rude. Or may be they are all like that? Then they should go for mannerism training.

This morning, we saw the Chan Brothers ad indicating "Confirmed Departure" for a series of dates for a 8-day Korea Group Tour. We rushed down to their office after work, wanting to make a booking, only to be told, they had only 3 people signed up, and is still waiting to meet the min group size before they can depart.

When I enquired about the ad indicating "Confirmed Departure", the lady's explanation is: "our confirmed department is still subject to final confirmation."

I wonder is it a case where they cannot understand simple English, or are they delibrately mis-leading customers ...... Please don't waste your customers' time with such misleading ad!!!

I booked a recent tour to Japan and I Really have the worst nightmare with Chan brothers.

First they said they needed my husband's visa before they can confirm the extension. So right after we came back from overseas we rushed to finish his visa processing, then we tried to call the agent for 2 days. Till I have to call up the global helpdesk to locate her then she called us back. and they have already confirmed the extension without checking with us again, and arriving back to Singapore at midnight. It was terrible. and when we wanted to amend, it was another S$125, on top of $100, And it was 4 of us, my parents, my husband and me.

And our agent had booked for us the most expensive date for whole of April, paying more than 300 per person. When we are the 6th person to book the tour in Feb 2008.

Lastly, I asked the agent why is chan brothers' advertisement so misleading, and did anyone ever complain. she said they just accepted the explanation they gave. I felt very angry and cheated. N I cannot accept the explanation they gave. I have logged a complaint with CASE.

And when I wanted to see the manager, she listened half way then she said she had a meeting to attend to.

Just because they are a bigger tour agency and that do not give them a right to be so misleading and arrogant and dishonest.

Be sure to ask them abt their travel package thoughly before paying.

2 yrs back i book a F&E tour to Taipei. Normally, i\'m very concern with Airport Transfer, meaning from Taipei Airport straight to the hotel destination, cause it save the hassle of having to carry your luggauge in a public transport.

I remember that i have asked the lady who served me during a travel fair whether the transfer is from Airport to hotel and she confirmed before i made my payment.

Somehow when everything is confirmed, guess what, the airport transfer she was refering to was a train ticket down to an train interchange. Imagine how furious i was. I felt cheated.

If i were to cancelled the trip, there will be a cancellation charge - according to the manager. It sucks to carry a bunky luggauge climbing up n down the stairs.

To all consumers out there, be wary and i nvr book a package with them again.
